The workshop will be an opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the Alta Langa DOCG designation, exploring its history, terroir, people, and four glasses of sparkling wine from Piedmont.
Alta Langa DOCG is the traditional method sparkling wine of Piedmont: the oldest in Italy, with roots dating back to the mid-19th century in the “Underground Cathedrals,” now part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
It is made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes and undergoes a long bottle aging on the lees, as required by the strict production regulations: at least 30 months, though it often exceeds 60 months.
Alta Langa DOCG is exclusively vintage, meaning it comes from a single harvest, and the year of grape picking is always indicated on the label.
The vineyards are cultivated in a hilly area (above 250 meters above sea level) that spans the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, and Cuneo: a land that gazes at the snow-capped Alpine peaks while breathing in the Ligurian Sea.
Alta Langa is a precious and authentic territory, where stone villages, dry-stone walls, meadows, and truffle-guarding woods preserve biodiversity and a deep-rooted rural soul.
