Chef Raffaele Lenzi – Ristorante Il Sereno Al Lago

Raffaele Lenzi, born in Naples in 1984, is the Executive Chef of the restaurant Il Sereno Al Lago on Lake Como, part of the prestigious Sereno Hotels group.

After completing culinary school, Lenzi began his professional journey at a very young age, working abroad in both England and the United States. His return to Italy marked the beginning of a brilliant career in some of the country’s most prestigious kitchens: in 2008, he joined the Arquade restaurant (2 Michelin Stars) at Hotel Villa del Quar under Bruno Barbieri. He then moved to the Bulgari Hotel in Milan with Elio Sironi, followed by Palazzo Sasso (2 Michelin Stars) on the Amalfi Coast, where he rose to the position of junior sous chef.
One of the most formative experiences of his career came at the Grand Hotel Villa Feltrinelli (2 Michelin Stars), where he worked alongside Stefano Baiocco, deepening his knowledge of plant-based cuisine and refining the balance between technique and lightness.
After international experiences in 3 Michelin Star kitchens such as Bo Innovation in Hong Kong and Manresa in California, he returned to Italy to lead Turbigo restaurant in Milan.

In 2017, under his leadership, Il Sereno Al Lago was awarded a Michelin Star, a recognition it still holds today. His cuisine, both personal and refined, blends technique, creativity, and respect for seasonality, with a growing focus on plant-based dishes and innovative offerings such as a vegan tasting menu.
“In 2017, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star: an incredible feeling, especially because from the very beginning I was given complete creative freedom by the ownership, allowing me to fully express my culinary philosophy. The day I stepped on stage and received the jacket with the Star stitched over the heart is a moment I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”

Since 2019, Raffaele has also overseen the Caribbean property of the Contreras family in Saint-Barthélemy, managing the entire culinary offering as Corporate Chef.
