Alba e Alba: il design di Alessi per la Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’Alba

The Alba White Truffle, an undisputed symbol of Italian gastronomic excellence, finds new expression in a project that blends art, design, and tradition: the Alba White Truffle Kit. Created in 2015 from an idea by the International Alba White Truffle Fair, in collaboration with the National Centre for the Study of Truffles, the kit is a tribute to the ritual gestures that accompany the enjoyment of the precious Tuber Magnatum Picco.

These are not mere utensils, but designer objects that interpret the truffle ritual: displaying, slicing, offering, serving, preserving. Each element is the result of the creativity of internationally renowned designers and artists, invited to tell the story of the truffle through evocative forms, materials, and symbols.

Signature design for a timeless ritual.

Alba e Alba: il design di Alessi per la Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d’AlbaAlba – Ben van Berkel (2017)
The Dutch architect signs a truffle slicer with a curved, distinctive profile, guiding the shavings along a steel surface. A daily gesture becomes an aesthetic experience, with a secure grip and a precise cut.
Its innovative shape breaks with tradition, offering a new way to experience the moment of slicing. It is an object that blends functionality and poetry, designed for those who appreciate beauty even in the smallest gestures.

Trace – Patricia Urquiola (2018)
A glove that celebrates the connection between human and truffle.
Its texture recalls the inside of the fungus and the soil that protects it, while the blue color evokes the nocturnal truffle hunt. A poetic and functional object, designed for a delicate grip.
Trace is an invitation to slow down, to respect the fragility of the truffle, and to cherish the moment of discovery. It is a bridge between nature and design, between gesture and meaning.

Xfetta (Perfect) – Davide Oldani (2019)
The Michelin-starred chef envisions a truffle slicer that ensures perfect shavings.
Created in collaboration with Ambrogio Sanelli, it combines technical precision with deep respect for the raw ingredient, enhancing every dish.
Xfetta is born from a thoughtful reflection on the value of the truffle and the importance of detail in the kitchen. It is a professional tool that becomes a symbol of care and attention.

Pepita – Raynaud (2019)
A geometric and refined Limoges porcelain container, designed to elegantly preserve the truffle.
Its lines echo the Fair’s logo and precious gemstones, blending functionality with beauty.
Pepita is the result of a meeting between two capitals of taste and design: Alba and Limoges. Every detail is crafted to celebrate the truffle as a jewel of nature.

Giacomo – Gufram (2020- 2021)

A brush inspired by the nose of Giacomo Morra, pioneer of the Truffle Fair.
Crafted in both a gold version and a special black edition, each features natural bristles and refined finishes. It is a tribute to the connection between smell and taste, between art and territory.
Giacomo is an evocative object that blends functionality with aesthetic provocation. Its sculptural form recalls Surrealism and tells the story of the truffle as a total sensory experience.
The black edition of Giacomo is a limited series, with each piece individually numbered from 1 to 100, making it a true collector’s item.

Sottosopra (Upside down)– Fabio Novembre (2022)
A stand that celebrates the bond between Alba and the Truffle, inspired by the octagonal layout of the ancient Roman city. Created in collaboration with Cooperativa Eta Beta, it combines design, sustainability, and social inclusion.
Sottosopra is a tribute to the history and geography of the region—an object that tells the story of what is visible and what is hidden. It is a symbol of deep roots and elevated visions.

NASCE BIANCO D’ALBA – IL MARCHIO OLFATTIVO DELLA FIERA INTERNAZIONALE DEL TARTUFO BIANCO D’ALBABianco d’Alba – Marchio Olfattivo (2024)
Created with Euthalia Fragrances, it is the first perfume dedicated to the Fair.
It captures the scents of the undergrowth and the soul of the Langhe, offering an immersive and memorable olfactory experience.
It is not just a fragrance, but a memory to wear, an emotion to breathe. Bianco d’Alba is the scent of a land, a season, a timeless excellence.

A project that tells the story of the territory

The Alba White Truffle Kit is much more than a collection of objects: it is a collective narrative that celebrates the region, its culture, and its vocation for excellence. Each piece is designed not only to be sold, but also to promote the truffle and its rituals, engaging the public in a unique sensory and cultural experience.

It is a project that evolves, grows richer, and looks to the future, while remaining firmly rooted in the tradition and innovative spirit that have always defined the International Alba White Truffle Fair.
