The Alba Truffle Museum has its roots in the Cortile della Maddalena, in the heart of the town where the International Alba White Truffle Fair is held from October to December.
530 square metres of exhibition space will narrate the multiple facets of an extraordinary product of the earth all year round: the naturalistic, historical, cultural and gastronomic aspects of a hypogean mushroom that over the years has made a name for itself worldwide.
The museum route
The MUDET is part of the building surrounding the Cortile della Maddalena, a historic city complex overlooking the central street, Via Vittorio Emanuele.
The articulation of the museum is spread over 140 meters of exhibition route divided into four thematic sections.
The ten rooms recompose a workshop space and tell the world of truffles through 140 meters of thematic graphic illustrations, multimedia devices and the collection of over fifty thematic objects on display.

The MUDET – The Truffle Museum of Alba
will host since its opening a photographic project by Steve mccurry,
The exhibition – made ad hoc for the museum itself – will be produced as part of the setting up of the Truffle Museum by the City of Alba, with the coordination and collaboration of the National Center for Studies of Truffle and the contribution of the Piedmont Region.
A series of shots by the famous American photographer – with portraits of the trifolao from all the provinces of the region, with the entire Piedmont represented – will be part of the permanent exhibition.
The exhibition, curated by Maurizio Beucci, will have the title “Truffle hunters and their dogs”.
